Owner Johnny Westra will take us through the milking parlor and cattle housing, breeding strategies plus the commodity and mixing building. Dr. Hugo Ramirez, Iowa State University, will discuss feeding this year’s silage, feeding issues he is seeing plus pile management.

**Light refreshments and SDSU ice cream will be served.

Tour facilities and open discussion with owners, Tom Koolhaas/Wes Bylsma, and manager, Kris Vanderkoy, of Tri Cross Dairy regarding crossbreeding utilization within the dairy. Followed by presentation from Amy Hazel, University of Minnesota, sharing a 10-yr study of ProCROSS and Holstein cow profitability.

Sunday, February 9th: Travel Day                                                                                                     

**Piccadilly Inn, Airport, 5115 E McKinley Ave, Fresno, CA 93727 (All Breakfasts included with Room)

**This hotel is across the street from the airport. 

Noon – 6:00 pm – Free Time for Attendees to Tour On Own around California; Lunch on your own. 

  • We are compiling a list of possible activities for those interested.

3:00 pm –Wine Educational Tour at Fresno State University & Visit Fresno State Ag Farmers Market

6:00 pm - Dinner – Included Dinner - BJ’s Restaurant and Brew House – Fresno, Ca
